Ruhlmann Rules!

There is a review in today's New York Times of the new exhibition at the Met featuring the astonishing design work of Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann, entitled Ruhlmann: Genius of Art Deco. Fortunately for me the show is co-curated by a Montrealer and will soon be making its way up here to the Museum of Fine Arts so I don't have to go down there. Interestingly, especially after the subject of my last post, the show's catalog states, "Perhaps it is more appropriate to speak of a Ruhlmann 'atmosphere' rather than a Ruhlmann style."

Ideological, rather than intellectual

The purpose of this site is to be ideological rather than intellectual. What I mean by that is that MYO should be expressed in simple ideas, rather than complicated arguments.
